Welcome to another groovy week here at the Corners.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I thought I\u2019d get things started this week by dipping into the Hammond crates for something cool.<\/p>\n

Oddly enough, I dug up this German Fontana pressing of the Spencer Davis Group\u2019s<\/strong> \u2018Trampoline\u2019 right around the corner from my crib here in Central NJ.<\/p>\n

I was unfamiliar with either of the tunes on the 45, and since it was a dollar (and I really dig the SDG) I grabbed it and took it home.<\/p>\n

Good thing too, because in addition to the cool \u2018When I Come Home\u2019 (co-written by Jackie Edwards<\/strong> and Stevie Winwood<\/strong>), you get the very swinging bit of Mod soul on the flip.<\/p>\n

Released in 1966, \u2018Trampoline\u2019 sees our boy Stevie working it out on the organ and piano with enough groove grease for the dancers.<\/p>\n

The 45 fell in between their big British hits \u2018Somebody Help Me\u2019 and \u2018Gimme Some Lovin\u2019 and grazed the UK Top 10.<\/p>\n

I hope you dig the tune, and I\u2019ll see you all on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
