F16C @ After the Laughter Soul Club 2/4 – CANCELLED

Just a quick note to let you know that this Friday’s gig at the After the Laughter Soul Club at Lulu’s in Greenpoint has been cancelled. I’ll make sure to publish an update when it gets rescheduled.

I will still be spinning at Spindletop @ Botanica on 2/21, so hopefully I’ll see some of you there.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a new post.

   Brother Gene Ammons, big favorite, nice to see him appreciated. Didn’t he get busted in Cleveland? I think he did. Or Detroit? Roland Kirk was arrested in Cleveland and charged with attempted hi-jacking of an airplane (he had a tear gas pen – remember this is the sixties, Jane Fonda’s vitamins resulted in her arrest at the airport.) The Jazz Temple on Euclid (Coltrane) burned down, rumor the police did it. Fear of race mixing. True. Thanks Gene, Angel Eyes is a ballad with tons of soul.
